A driver who drove into a secret service officer on Wednesday night when President Donald trump was returning to the White House has been arrested. Trump was on his way back from the hospital where Steve Scalise was treated and officers struggled to clear the road for him to pass.

Accounts say uniformed officers had blocked the road to pave way for the president’s return to the White House when a vehicle tried to turn into the route near 15Th street NW Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver who ignored many signs to hold on, CNN reports, struck an officer in an attempt to stop the car from moving. The officer who suffered a minor injury was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment. Onlookers claim the driver concentrated elsewhere when he struck the officer. However, he was arrested, charged for disobedience and assault with a dangerous weapon vehicle. He is said to appear in court this Thursday. TO THE WHITE HOUSE
