The town Mutengene of the South West Region faced serious conflicts on the 23 of February. Reports say the population was angered by death of a young boy who was shot. The situation aggravated when the angry mob paraded with the corpse. Fierce violence between armed forces and civilians that night saw the blocking of the roads and much destruction.
The incident also witnessed the burning down of classrooms at the Government Bilingual High School Mutengene and two cars.
Access to the school has since then been stiff and the streets of Mutengene is constantly paraded by the peace keeping forces.
